Man’s Body Found In Brunswick After Reports Of Gunshots; State Police Seek Information
Maine's top cops are asking for the public's help in gathering information surrounding the death of a man found dead on a property in Brunswick.
Authorities say the body was discovered Tuesday afternoon, just before 1 PM, after Brunswick Police responded to the report of gunshots at a home at 5 Valerie Ave.

"Upon the arrival of responding officers, an adult male was located deceased on the property. The resident of 5 Valerie Avenue was taken into custody on charges related to the incident and transported to the Cumberland County Jail. The deceased male was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy to confirm identity and determine cause and manner of death."
State Police say they do not believe there is a risk to the public at this time, but are asking anyone who might have information regarding the shooting or the death to come forward.

The Major Crimes Unit and the Fire Marshal's Office have taken over the case and are looking into the matter. If someone has information to share, they can call the Maine State Police at (207) 624-7076 extension 9.
