2nd Child Involved In Recent Hit-and-run In Albion, Maine, Has Died
The second of two twin toddler boys, who were struck, along with their mother, while on a walk in Albion last Friday, has died.
The incident occurred just after 5:00 PM on July 11th, on Hussey Hill Road. Authorities say 44-year-old Benjamin Lancaster, of Albion, was under the influence when he drove his 2016 Hyundai Veloster into the young twins and their mother, 33-year-old Mollie Egold.
Lancaster fled the scene of the crime but was later identified and arrested by Maine State Police Troopers.
The first child was pronounced dead at the scene. The second, along with the mom, Egold, were rushed to the hospital in critical condition following the incident, says Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss.
