New Owner Takes Over One of Bangor, Maine’s Most Popular Bars
Big news, Bangor! One of your favorite bars just got a new owner — are you ready for the changes?
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, things sure have changed quite a bit when it comes to nightlife in the Greater Bangor area.
Fewer and fewer people go out, and there aren't many places that stay open till last call, even on the weekends, but one spot has retained its popularity over an impressive 8-year span.
Happy Endings is a martini, tapas & dessert bar, located at 32 Main Street, in the heart of Downtown Bangor, offering a mix of specialty cocktails, small tapas plates, and house-made desserts.

Their beverage menu is creative and playful! They offer classic martinis and cocktails, as well as some tasty dessert-inspired drinks.
The vibe is cozy, intimate, and more upscale than a typical Bangor bar, making it a perfect spot for a date night, a late-night treat, or a special evening out.
Owner Melissa Ann Smith, recently put the establishment up for sale, with an asking price of $199,000, on the website BizBuySell, hoping to find the perfect new owner to transition Happy Endings into the future.
When it was all said and done, Smith decided to pass Happy Endings down to Jarrod Chase, who had previsouly been a bartender at her Bangor restaurant, 11 Central.
Chase is planning a re-imaging of the food and drink offerings. A new name chagne and vibe may also be in the works, as Chase is planning on shifting the busienss to an Italian-style restaurant, at some point in 2026..
Make sure the good times keep rolling, and the drinks keep flowing at Happy Endings, for many years to come!
