When these seasonal businesses starting opening, you really know that spring has sprung!

Nothing is better than a warm, sunny day in Maine, when you can get outside and enjoy some delicious food.

Crosby's Drive-In, located on Route 46 in Bucksport, has been serving Bucksport and surrounding communities in Hancock, Waldo, Penobscot counties and beyond, for many years, and they are gearing up for their 88th season in 2026.

It was all started back in 1940, by Elton ‘Fat’ Crosby and his wife, and has been run since 1980, by Jennifer & Tom Pappas.

On Friday, April 10th, Crosby's will be open from 11 am-7 pm, to kick things off, for what is sure to be a great season of food & fun.

Crosby's is known as the "Home of the Golden Buck Burger" and the famous "Pig’s Dinner". Best of all, it really captures that old-school drive-in take-out feel, that is pretty rare these days. All of us old-school fans of the now gone, Nicky's in Bangor, remember that feeling of heading there on a nice summer day. Crosby's definitely captures that vibe.

Once they open on April 10th, they will remain open until Labor Day. The menu features seafood, burgers, sandwiches, salads and Maine-made ice cream.

Check out their Facebook page for the full menu & upcoming summer events

With the announcements of Gifford's, and Jimmie's Ice Cream & Grill opening their doors for the season, and now Crosby's, things are heating up after a long winter.
