The other evening Shirley and I sat at the intersection of Hogan Road in Bangor and the off ramp of I-95 on our way to dinner at the Olive Garden, when something went terribly wrong with the traffic lights. We sat through almost three crazy light changes before I decided I had had enough and found an opening to shoot across some swiftly moving traffic leaving others behind me in a wake of tire smoke.

I felt guilty, and quickly thought of what I would say to a police officer should I have been caught going through an endless red light, but my crime went unnoticed. I've always hated that intersection and many others like the one on Stillwater Avenue in Bangor where the little strip mall is that houses LL Bean, and the intersection of State St. and Broadway. You too?

Well, after seeing the craziest intersection in the world located in Ethiopia, I've decided we've got it pretty good. Pay attention to the pedestrians crossing the streets.
