
New Claims Suggest This Iconic Maine Sports Venue Is Closing
Some of the most famous and iconic moments in sports have happened under this roof, and now it’s said to be ‘closing its doors.’
The venue where Muhammad Ali knocked out Sonny Liston in the first round of their heavyweight title rematch is allegedly set to close.

A circus group that was set to perform at the Colisée in Lewiston has canceled its show, saying they were informed the venue is closing its doors.
Hamid Circus, which had a May performance scheduled, announced the cancellation in a Facebook post on Wednesday night.

Hamid Circus says it was informed by Colisée General Manager James Mercier that the venue is shutting down immediately due to a lack of operating and payroll funds.
Additionally, the venue is said to be canceling all future events, including hockey. As a result, the circus has canceled its May 8–10 shows in Lewiston, and ticket holders can receive a full refund by contacting the Colisée box office in person or by calling 207-221-6947.

And there you have it! According to a statement on Wednesday, the Hamid Circus is claiming that the Colisée in Lewiston is closing its doors.
