Despite the lack of a buyer, legendary Fat Boy Drive-In will open for the season this week.

The Fat Boy Drive-In in Brunswick has been a summertime tradition for Mainers for over 60 years. Located near the Brunswick Executive Airport, Fat Boy has been serving customers right from the comfort of their vehicle since 1955. According to Fat Boy's Facebook, they will open for the season Thursday, March 28.

The Portland Press Herald reported back in December, owners Jeanne and Ken Burton are ready for retirement and put their legendary car-hop up for sale. The business is listed for $1.15 million.

According to the Times Record, Jeanne and Ken received many offers initially, but none met their expectations. Now with the summer season approaching, they plan on opening the car-hop, without a new owner.

Fat Boy Drive-In is located at 111 Bath Rd in Brunswick.
