A woman from Hancock faces a felony charge after allegedly shooting a man Sunday night during a domestic dispute.

Jane Strunk, 58, was charged with Class A elevated aggravated assault, and taken to Hancock County Jail.

Police responded to a home on The Otter Way at 10:19 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from a woman saying a man had been shot once during a domestic dispute.

Police found the 59-year-old man with a single gunshot wound. He was taken by helicopter to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

The victim, who was not named, was listed in stable condition.

The maximum penalty for elevated aggravated assault is up to 30 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $50,000.
