A Mainer who saved a guitar pick from a Garth Brooks show in Bangor 30 years ago, left Gillette with another keepsake from the country megastar.

Last weekend, Garth Brooks took over Gillette Stadium. His two nights at the home of the New England Patriots was documented for an episode of Inside Studio G. Among the highlights from the two shows, was a Mainer who left with quite a gift from the megastar.

A fan from Maine made the trek to Foxborough, Massachusetts with a sign that caught Garth's eye from the stage. According to WABI, the lucky lady is Jessica Cloukey from Lincoln. Her sign read "Bangor Maine 1992. I’ve saved your guitar pick for 30 years. Do you want it back?" Cloukey says she was eight years old when she saw Garth in Bangor, where he gave her his guitar pick. Instead of Garth accepting her offer to return his long-gifted pick, he gave her a new one, and his guitar to go along with it.

Garth reflects on his time in Bang-er beginning at 11:45 in the video above. Bang-gor, Garth. Bangor. Thank you.

Garth's Gillette shows were his first ever shows at the home of the New England Patriots. He had previously said a Gillette Stadium show was a matter of when not if. He has had plans to bring the Stadium Tour to the home of the New England Patriots, as recent as last year. According to a past press release, the show was scheduled for October 9, 2021. The show was ultimately scrapped due to COVID-19 concerns. Tickets for the show never went on sale.

Another big country show coming up at Gillette this summer is Kenny Chesney. The Here And Now Tour will make a stop at Gillette, on August 26 and 27, 2022. Opening for the "Knowing You" singer are Dan + Shay, Old Dominion, and Carley Pearce.
