He was trying to get discovered, playing Nashville’s Lower Broadway honkytonk gigs, and was thinking of quitting and going back to school. Then he met writer Shane McAnally.

The former star of Songland and songwriter of 40 #1 hits, helped him get an in by releasing his 5 song self-titled EP. 8 years after interning with a radio station, and working a Dierks Bentley concert thinking quote “Man, I wonder if I could do that some day”
