The public is invited for some free food on Saturday, followed by a country concert with award-winning Texas artist, Justin Todd Herod.

It promises to be a fun, community afternoon at the Orrington Center Church. Located at 468 Dow Road, the church is inviting everyone in for an afternoon of free food, family friendly fun, and live music. There will be hot dogs and burgers on the grill, beginning at 3:00 Saturday afternoon.

At 5:00, Justin Todd Herod will take the stage for a free Country concert. Herod has won many awards in his native Texas, and has been touring the country for 20 years, sharing his music. Through the Texas Country Music Association, Justin has won awards for his songwriting and has been named Artist and Musician of the Year multiple times. He's a Christian Country singer, who spreads the word about his love for Jesus Christ through his music. His songs are rough, edgy, and raw, but with a tender message of hope.

The forecast looks clear and warm for Saturday, making it a perfect day for some barbecued dogs and burgers, while you listen to great Christian Country music. Pastor Dan Richard and the Center Church congregation hope to see a lot of new faces, while they host this community party.

To get to the Orrington Center Church from the Bangor/Brewer area, head out Route 15, turning onto Snow's Corner Road at the light by the store. Take a right onto Dow Road and just follow it until you see the little white church. I pass it everyday on my way home. It's a nice drive, and promises to be a fun afternoon.
