Agents with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested two people from New York on Third Street Tuesday afternoon, suspected of trafficking in illegal drugs.

Where Did This Happen?

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says police went to the apartment house to serve an arrest warrant. When the occupants didn't immediately come out, officials set up a perimeter that shut down portions of Third and Parker Streets.

The warrants were the result of a months-long investigation into the sale of fentanyl, crack cocaine, and methamphetamine from a multi-unit apartment building at the corner of Parker and Third Streets in Bangor. Officials say this investigation included the undercover purchases of those drugs, which led to the execution of the warrants on apartments located in that building. The warrants were executed by members of the Bangor Police Department's Special Response Team.

Who Was Arrested?

Arrested on Tuesday were:

  • Sheldon Wray, AKA Bully, 34, of the Bronx, New York. Wray is charged with aggravated trafficking of schedule W drugs.
  • Tiquali Bracey, AKA Tiquan Bracey or L-T, 32, of the Bronx, New York. Bracey is charged with aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs.

Moss says agents seized over $18,000 in suspected drug proceeds, along with evidence of drug trafficking. Both Wray and Bracey are being held at the Penobscot County Jail without bail. They're expected to make their first court appearance on Thursday.
