Angela Stutzman Ayala, a longtime friend of Shawn, has helped co-ordinate the sales of T shirts to benefit Shawn.  Here's the link to get the shirt. Shawn calls his "Man-cave" the Squatch Cave.

The outpouring of comments on social media is amazing.

"Sending thoughts, prayers and positive vibes to Shawn and his family as he continues to make progress on the toughest journey of his life."

Love these shirts and they are still available, and again the proceeds go to help Shawn. Keep on pushing, Shawn.

Here's the story from a month ago.

Life is precious.

Too often we get taps on the shoulder about that fact. When something bad happens to a good person, we deal with it by remembering to be nicer to people, to hug our kids tighter, to smell the roses if you will.

Shawn Merrill is a big fan of Q106.5. He knows the on-air people, and we know him. He has a huge passion for Rowdy Yates and The Original Country Gold Show on Saturday nights, and over the years made it a "must tune in" appointment each week.

A month ago, Shawn was attending his 30th class reunion and he suffered a fall resulting in a spinal cord injury. Right now Shawn is making small progress. He's off the ventilator and has very minor movement

Just a week before this horrible accident, Shawn was cleared by doctors to go back to work. Shawn just beat stomach cancer.

Shawn is one of those good guys that you meet in life and come away saying “What a kind, caring, nice guy." I personally met Shawn at a Q106.5 appearance and within 2 minutes of talking with him, liked him, and felt I knew him.  And we all feel the same way. Cindy Campbell, Rowdy Yates, all of us know and liked Shawn the first time we met him.

As you might well imagine, Shawn’s medical bills were already mounting before this from cancer treatment. Now he is truly in the fight for his life.

Positive vibes, thoughts, and prayers are needed. And if you are so inclined, there is a Go Fund Me page started for Shawn.  Here’s the link.

If you are not a Go Fund Me person and want to send a check, Make it out to Shawn Merrill and drop it off, or mail it to Maine Highlands Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 507, Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426. The Credit Union will deposit directly into Shawn's account, and keep track of all donations for Shawn.

This world needs you, Shawn.  Keep on fighting.
