If you were dropped off in the Maine woods with nothing but a map and compass, could you find your way home?

While reading a map may seem simple in the day and age of Google maps and GPS, but if you were completely lost in the woods with only a map and compass would you be able to use it?

The video above is a great video for learning the basics to using a compass and a map, but there is more too it.

In order to use a map you need to understand things like the legend, the distance scale, and map orientation as not all maps have north at the top.

This is a skill every Mainer should have, so we want to know do you know how?!
