I don't think I'm alone in the idea that our country's veterans, especially the disabled vets, should be given every opportunity to enjoy their lives as much as possible. Anyone that's willing to put their life on the line for me and my country, deserves so much more than they often receive.

Gov. Janet Mills just signed a new bill that will give all our disabled veterans the opportunity to obtain a non-commercial fishing license for free, to catch lobsters, crabs, and scallops, according to WABI - TV5. Anyone can get a non-commercial license, but it the fees associated with it, especially the first time, will easily put a dent in a $100 bill.

It was a no-brainer as it went through the state legislature and hit Gov. Mills desk. Like I said above, doing easy little things like this for our disabled vets, who made one of the ultimate sacrifices for us, is just the human thing to do. And saving vets a few bucks on something like this is awesome.

Thanks to our state government for doing this. While there is no doubt that more can and always should be done, this is a great step in the right direction. Maybe the state could find a few more awesome ways to honor our vets as well? Let's hope so!
