This is not just another car show. This car show is a benefit for the Carter Dulac Memorial VFW Post #4298.

The show is being put on by the organization Hot Rods for Heroes. It’ll take place Saturday, July 16.

And there are incentives for you to pre-register your car for the event.

VFW # 4298 serves Dexter, Ripley, Garland, Exeter, Sangerville, Harmony, Dover-Foxcroft, and Corinth areas and is involved in many community events.

They continue to serve the community with fun events, meals and assistance to veterans in need.

3 Reasons to Pre-Register Your Car Now

If you pre-register the cost is $8 per car. The price to register on the morning of the show is $10.

Also if you pre-register before Friday, the 15th, you will be entered into a random drawing for a $100 gas card. Remember how much gas that used to buy back when the car you are registering was brand new…instead of just looking brand new like it does now.

And bonus, if you pre-register it alleviates the bottleneck getting into the show on Saturday at 9 a.m to pre-register.

More time to see all those beautiful cars.

Show time is 10 a.m and 2 p m. and it will be held at the Dexter Municipal Parking lot behind Bangor Savings Bank in Dexter.

There will be 15 Classes of Awards, including Decades, Pre World War 2, Muscle Cars, Truck, Kids Favorite,  Best of Show, and more.

And Heroes on Wheels Food Truck will be there serving food.

Here’s a chance to do something for our Veterans, by attending the show that benefits Dexter VFW, and have a great time doing it too.

LOOK: 100 years of American military history

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
