Still No Updates on Maine School Closures
It was supposed to be the first day of a new school year for Ridge View Community School and Dexter Regional High School in Dexter, Maine.
Not even 6 hours after Ridge View Community School shared that sweet welcome back to school message to their pre-K through 8th grader students, it was announced that there would in fact be no school due to a specified threat.

Due to a specified threat, there will be no school in SAD #46 tomorrow. More information will be provided tomorrow.No school-Wednesday, August 28.
When Will Schools in SAD #46 Open in Dexter, Maine?
As of 11am on Wednesday, August 28th, there have been no updates in regard to what sort of threat was made that preempted the closure. We have reached out to both Ridge View Community School and Dexter Regional High School to no avail.
Within the comments on both school's Facebook posts, many parents thanked officials for being proactive and making safety of the students and children a priority, while others shared their anxiety over a threat being made on the school district.
There have been questions as to extracurricular activities and athletic practices that are on the schedule to take place today. The schools have both responded that information on all matters will be revealed at some point today.
