It's the final week to get Bangor dog residents registered.

The City of Bangor is reminding residents with dogs the deadline for registration is coming up. Maine requires dogs to be registered yearly. Licenses expire on Dec. 31. The deadline is Jan. 31. After the 31st, late fees are imposed. Bangor city code limits the number of dogs per-residence to 3 (more than six months of age).

If your dog's information isn't on file, owners need to show:

  • State of Maine rabies certificate.
  • A spay or neuter certificate.
  • Provide your dog’s veterinarian’s name and phone number.

Renewal of dog licenses can be done online between October and January 31.
