Celebrate The Troops With Ice Cream

Sunday, Aug. 7 is the 2nd Annual "Joan Gaudet's Military Appreciation Day" at Wild Cow Creamery.  Celebrate the troops in your life with free ice cream on the Bangor Waterfront and the location on the Belfast Waterfront. In memory of longtime Main Troop Greeter, Joan Gaudet, Wild Cow Creamery is offering free ice cream to military men and women all day Sunday.

Joan passed away in October 2014, but her family is honoring her longtime commitment to the troops with her favorite summertime treat. As a member of the Maine Troop Greeters, Joan went to the Bangor Airport at all hours of the day and night to greet soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines heading to Iraq and Afghanistan or returning home. She was one of three subjects profiled in the award winning documentary film 'The Way We Get By'.
