Brewer Traffic Stop Ends in Capture of Wanted Massachusetts Man
A traffic stop in Brewer resulted in two arrests, including the apprehension of a man wanted on felony charges in Massachusetts.
Both Men in the Vehicle Had Active Arrest Warrants
Two people were apprehended during the traffic stop on Saturday, August 31st:
- Stanley Earl Jenkins, 41, of Massachusetts was taken into custody on an active Federal Probation warrant for federal drug charges. He incurred additional charges after giving a false name to the Deputy.
- Jeremy Carr, 43, of Harmony had an active warrant for his arrest and was operating while his license was under suspension.

The Massachusetts Man Gave the Deputy a False Name and Information
A Deputy with the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office conducted the traffic stop near the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge on Sturday. Initially, the passenger in the vehicle gave the Deputy a false name and information. Members of the Brewer Police Department and U.S. Federal Probation assisted in the stop, but the passenger still refused to reveal his true identity.
Once He Was Positively Identified, Jenkins Was Arrested on Additional Charges
The men were taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where Deputies conducted an additional investigation, trying to properly identify the passenger. When Jenkins' real name and information were revealed, he was arrested for failing to give a correct name, address, and date of birth, as well as being held on an active Federal Probation warrant for federal drug offenses.
