An open house is being held Thursday night at the Brewer Community School. And it's not just for parents of students. This is so everyone can learn more about Brewer's history in celebration of the city's 200th anniversary!

The evening begins at 6pm with an introduction to the History of Brewer curriculum that's being developed. And an opportunity to see how the design of the new school honors that history. There will be self-guided tours of the school, where local experts in each wing will explain the importance of river, ice, paper, maritime, and brick in Brewer's history.

Then at 7pm in the beautiful Performing Arts Center, there will be guest speakers, musical performances, and a movie about the former mill. The evening will finish up with cake and ice cream in the colorful cafeteria to celebrate Brewer's 200th Anniversary!

The event is free and open to the public! A great way to see the new school, learn more about Brewer's history, and have some fun with friends and neighbors!
