Officials have released the identity of a body found in the Kennebec River last week.

The State Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed that the body found on Friday, October 26th is that of Mark Johnston, 64, of Richmond. He was found by searchers who had been looking for him since he failed to return after moving his 32-foot recreational vessel from a mooring in Richmond to the Town Dock.

Johnston had gone to move the boat at around 6:30 on the night of October 5th and was reported missing 3 hours later. The search was called off at around 2:30 the next morning and resumed at 7 a.m. His body was finally recovered by the Maine State Police/Marine Patrol dive team at around 3:10 p.m that afternoon.
