Meet Bar Harbor's 'Plowy McPlowFace' and 'Sled Zeppelin' [PHOTOS]

With all snow yesterday and the snow plow operators out plowing around the clock, I thought how cool it is when towns name their snow plows. Like in Belfast, Shawn or is it Sean checked in while he was plowing

I am a snowplow fan. And if you are not, you must be a fan of what they accomplish for all. Admit it. It is a pleasure in the dead of winter to drive on a road that was just freshly plowed.

And if those roads are in Bar Harbor, you have names to express your gratitude to.

Meet Sled Zeppelin. Ready to rock.

Here is Bulldog. Ready to growl at the snow and ice.

Here's Colonel Sanders. When not on the job, might ask you to have some chicken and play the board game Clue.

Here’s the story: This past spring Bar Harbor Town Council voted to name the snowplows and the sanders.

Two were named after longtime plow drivers. Bulldog and Herbie. Respect. That’s respect when they name the plow after you.

Also this season we’ll see "Sled Zeppelin," "Snow Dancer," "Winter Warrior," "Acadia Clipper" and "Grit’er Done!" on the roads of Bar Harbor, doing what they do for you.

The idea seems to have come from Scotland. They’ve been naming their plows for a few years. "Mary Queen of Salt," "Sweet Child O Brine," "Boaty McBoatFace," "Buzz Iceclear," "Creedence Clear-Road Revival."

The State of Vermont just jumped on board announcing their snowplows will be named going forward. "Captain Snowpants," "Yo Bro-No Snow," and "Jennifer Snowpez" are among the names. How about "Snowbegone Kenobe?"
