Bangor’s Winter Parking Rules Are Now In Effect
We had a nice month of parking paradise in Bangor. It was fun while it lasted...
Winter parking rules are now in effect in Bangor. The first storm of the season prompted the city's first overnight parking ban, thus the end of the delayed parking rules. The city announced last month that the winter parking rules will not go into effect until the first snow storm of the season.
Now that the winter parking rules are in effect, they will stay in place until March 31.

Here's the breakdown from the Bangor Police Department:
'1) Night Parking – Vehicles cannot park on a public street or parking area between midnight and 6:00 AM. Cars can be ticketed and towed for this violation.
2) Alternate Side Parking (Odd-Even) – Parking is allowed on only one side of the street. On the odd numbered days of the month, cars must park on the side of the street with odd numbered addresses. On the even days of the month, cars must park on the side of the street with even numbered addresses. (i.e. On Nov 1st cars would park on the same side of the street as houses with odd numbered addresses like 1, 3, 5, etc.). Cars can be ticketed for this violation. Please note this requirement does not apply to streets where one side of the street is already posted to prohibit parking or where parking is restricted by time limits.
3) Blocking Snow Removal – Vehicles cannot be parked on a public street or parking area so as to interfere with or hinder plowing or snow removal operations. Cars can be ticketed and towed for this violation at any time of day.
Ticket waiver fees for these violations range from $10-$20 and tow fees are a minimum of $65 per vehicle.
