Bangor's Hope House is no longer considered an outbreak site for COVID-19, Maine CDC officials announced Monday.

Dr. Nirav Shah, head of the MCDC, said the case was closed after the facility hadn't experienced any new cases for the requisite number of days.

On April 29, the Hope House, which provides serves to people who are homeless, documented 20 positive tests for the virus. Those 20 people, 16 residents and four staff members, all have recovered.

Hope House had been one of several congregate living facilities designated as an outbreak site.

Hope House is an agency of PCHC that offers a variety of services to Bangor's homeless population, including a shelter, health services, and transitional housing.
