20-Year-Old Bangor Woman Arrested for Shooting on Highland Avenue
Bangor Police have arrested a local woman for a fatal shooting on Highland Avenue.
A Bangor Woman is Charged With Manslaughter
Olivia Babin, 20, of Bangor is charged with manslaughter for a fatal shooting.
Charges Stem From a Fatal Shooting Earlier in the Week
Police were called to a home on Highland Avenue Tuesday morning, just before 4:30, for a report of an altercation. When Officers arrived, they found Daniel Ford-Coates, 24, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Ford-Coates was taken to a local hospital by the Bangor Fire Department, where he was pronounced dead.
A post-mortem examination at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta determined the manner of death was homicide.
Bangor Police Have Not Commented on a Motive
After an investigation into the circumstances of the incident, Bangor Police got a search warrant for Olivia Babin, charging her with manslaughter. She was arrested and transported to the Penobscot County Jail. So far, there's no comment on the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
