Bangor Police say no one was injured in a shooting Friday evening on York Street.

Police say several gunshots were fired just after 7:30, in the area of York and Essex Streets. Two vehicles appear to have been involved, according to police, one of which was light in color and the other was dark in color. Both four-door sedans had left the scene before police could arrive. A portion of York Street was closed to traffic for a while Friday evening, as police investigated.

There were no reports of injuries as a result of the shooting. Now, police are trying to identify the owner(s) and occupant(s) of the vehicles believed to be involved. Officials say they believe the people involved in this incident are known to each other and have no evidence suggesting that there is any threat to the public.
