After a two-month investigation, Bangor police have arrested a man on a charge of possessing sexually explicit material, allegedly depicting children under the age of 12.

Nathan Lawrence, 32, a transient who has been residing in several Penobscot County towns, was arrested Friday, Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton said in a news release.

Lawrence was in possession of images that allegedly included photos of children under the age of 12, police said.

Lawrence was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, and no further details will be released at this time.
