With snow on the ground, a Bangor golf course has opened their grounds to winter recreation.

Another Maine winter is here. Those looking to get outside for winter fun can find it at Bangor Municipal Golf Course. Once again crews from Bangor Parks and Recreation have laid down seven miles of groomed cross-country skiing tracks. Snowshoers are welcome, but are asked to stay off the groomed portions of trail.

Additional Info:

  • The trails are free to use regardless of residency.
  • Dog walking, snowmobiling, and bicycles are not permitted on the trails.
  • Bathrooms are unavailable during winter months.
  • See the trail map here.

Bangor has multiple venues for those looking to explore the woods on skis. Groomed ski tracks can also be found at the Bangor City Forest. Skiers can also take advantage of miles of trails at the Walden-Parke Preserve.

For more places to explore this season, check out our list of "5 Great Bangor Area Snowshoeing Destinations To Visit This Winter." While the article is geared towards snowshoeing, all the trails mentioned in the list are open to cross-country skiing.
