The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency has filed methamphetamine charges against two Bangor men, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said on Friday.

Agents charged Brian Hovey, 33, and Thomas Beaudoin, 27, with aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine.

On Wednesday, a meth lab was discovered when Bangor police went to an apartment on Pine St. to check on the two men's bail restrictions, McCausland said.

Several other units in the building were evacuated while the apartment was searched.

The men were arrested for violating probation and taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

The suspects were scheduled to make their first court appearance Friday in Bangor Unified Court.
