Folks who usually park in the Downtown Bangor area will want to take note that there's a Parking Ban in place this evening from 11 PM till 6 AM tomorrow.

The City implements a ban in order to keep cars from obstructing Bangor Public Works Crews from clearing the roads during a storm.

According to the City's Facebook Page, this parking ban will kick off the seasonal parking ban downtown, during which there's a ban on parking Downtown between the hours of Midnight and 6 AM every day.

Bangor also has an Odd/Even Rule that runs throughout the City, outside of the Downtown Parking Management District, which runs the same hours every evening. Simply put, if you plan to park on a side street, that doesn't already have an official sign telling you where you can and can't park, you can easily figure out which side is a safe place for you to put your vehicle on.

"The Odd/Even Parking Rule for daytime parking will also be in effect between the hours of 6:00 am and 12:00 midnight, through March 31, 2022. It's easy to remember because the even side of the street has even house numbers and the odd side of the street has odd house numbers."

Failure to observe either the parking ban or the Odd/Even rule could cost you. Vehicles found parked in the wrong spots run the risk of either getting a ticket or worse yet, being towed at the owner's expense.
