Asking Who You Want To See in Concert Next Summer in Maine
A week or so ago we asked a question on social media looking for your opinion, and you certainly responded.
Thank you for your thoughts.
Who do you want to see in concert next summer along the Bangor Waterfront was the question, and there were just about 600 responses last we checked.
Thank you. Love the interaction and the suggestions.
And for the record to the couple of comments that said the venue doesn’t like country music, here is who played this past summer:
- Cole Swindell
- Lee Brice
- Gabby Barrett
- Kane Brown
- Chris Stapleton
- The Chicks
- Elle King
- Jelly Roll
- Brantley Gilbert
- Old Crow Medicine Show
- Hank Williams Junior
Pretty good line up of artists.
So much goes into who comes to play in Bangor at Maine Savings Amphitheater, or for that matter at Cross Insurance Center, or at the Bangor State Fair or at Husson or anywhere.
If someone is on tour and on the west coast, or in Europe or wherever in the summer, the odds are very nearly 100% they are not going to be in Bangor in the summer.
Tours dates are based on geography and basically unless a concert to Canada after Bangor, this is the end of the line.
Or quite often, the start of a tour.
And also, venue size comes into play too.
If an artist is popular enough to fill Gillette, they make a lot more money for their night’s work than they would at a concert in Bangor.
And yes, it is great when artists do a 2nd or 3rd concert in the same venue, back-to-back, there is also the fact that taking up 2 or 3 dates isn’t always financially wise.
Not that it is all about money, but you know,
On with the answers to who should come here next summer
Great to see diversity.
All the big stars were named.
Lots of favorites from years past mentioned too.
And also, many of the young newcomers who are up and coming were named as well.
Recognize Lainey Wilson and Bailey Zimmerman?
As fall arrives and turns to winter, we will have the start of the announcements for who is indeed coming in summer 2024. Til then keep those suggestions coming.
