If you hear the squeaking, that is me stretching to loosen up. If you hear the moaning, I’ve gotten into a position I’m having trouble getting out of. And there will be hundreds and hundreds of people to witness it all.

Oh, Well. Have to start somewhere.

Broadway Park in Bangor is where on Sunday the 25th for Commit to Get Fit, presented annually by St Joseph Healthcare.

There is a 10 and a 5K Run, and  a 5 K you can you’re your choice of course depends on your fitness level, and there is also a fun run for kids. Kids start at 8:45 a.m. All others begin at 9 a.m. Here’s the link to St Josephs to get registered.

Proceeds from race registrations, donations and sponsorships will benefit St Joseph Healthcare’s Sexual Assault Forensic Examiners (S.A.F.E.) program.

This year the event proceeds will help to hire more S.A.F.E. certified nurses, so that the program can be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to survivors all over Maine.

Last year nearly 500 people took on the Commit to Get Fit challenge and ran or walked. More are expected this year for the 4th annual event.

Round up the family and make it a date. A great cause and a great sense of community event.
