The deceased has been identified as Billyjack Curtis, 51, of Augusta.
Maine State Police Say an Augusta Man Died in a Shooting
Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says an autopsy revealed that Mr. Curtis was killed by a gunshot wound and his manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

Maine State Police are Investigating a Fatal Shooting in Augusta
Augusta Police were called to reports of a shooting on Flagg Street just after 11:00 pm on February 2nd. When they arrived, they found a deceased adult male, whose remains were sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

WMTW-TV reports the man's body was in the road.
Maine State Police say there is no known danger to the public.
