Maine State Police have identified an Augusta man they say was murdered.

The deceased has been identified as Billyjack Curtis, 51, of Augusta.

Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says an autopsy revealed that Mr. Curtis was killed by a gunshot wound and his manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

Maine State Police are Investigating a Fatal Shooting in Augusta

Augusta Police were called to reports of a shooting on Flagg Street just after 11:00 pm on February 2nd. When they arrived, they found a deceased adult male, whose remains were sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
