It's time once again for one of my favorite events in Bangor, Paws On Parade, this Saturday, September 28th. Sadly, I don't own a dog. My wife and I will sooner than later, but it doesn't change the fact that I love dogs, and love to hang out at the parade and watch all the awesome pooches.

This year, the Bangor Humane Society is celebrating 150 years of helping furry family members, so the theme is Bark to the Future. What I really hope it means, is that they have a contest to see if any of the dogs can run 88 mph, and if they go back to the 50's. A guy can dream, can't he?

The parade will take a 2 mile route through downtown Bangor, and the hope is that it raises awareness for pets in our community that don't have forever homes. And of course, there will also be tons of contests like best costume, best trick, as well as biggest and smallest dogs.

Plus, my favorite... an adoptable dog runway show. So if you don't own a dog (like myself) you can check out some cool pooches that would love to come live with you. there will also be lots of other prizes and giveaways. Register ahead of time here, or you can always do it the day of the event.

Face it, if you've got nothing else going on this Saturday, you should definitely head down and check this out. Besides, it's for a great cause. Whether you own a dog or not. And don't forget, with the runway show, you may find a new fuzzy friend right at the event.

So, will I see you there?
