The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the death of a man at his home in Turner.

The body of Craig Gordon, 52, was discovered in a camper trailer parked beside the garage at the home on Turkey Lane Thursday morning, Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said in a news release.

The camper was being heated by two kerosene heaters and investigators are looking into whether one of them malfunctioned, McCausland said.

The release said the camper filled with smoke and was covered in soot, but there was no fire.

Gordon’s body was discovered by his father, Stanley Gordon, at about 7 a.m.

The body will be examined by the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
