Taylor Swift is a force to be reckoned with. If there’s an award, she’s won it — and if there isn’t an award, well, they’ll create it for her. The singer received the first-ever Worldwide Artist Award at the 2013 ACAs on Tuesday (Dec. 10).

None other than the much-loved actress and singer Olivia Newton-John was on hand to announce the trophy, which recognizes a country artist who has achieved global success. Although Swift was quite literally a world away in Sydney, Australia, she showed that she’s hopelessly devoted to bringing her music to fans worldwide.

Newton-John prefaced the award by saying, “Coming to America and having country hit was a dream come true for me.” She introduced Swift as a “singer, songwriter and performer who has taken country music to places it’s never been before,” adding, “The first-ever ACA Worldwide Artist Award goes to one of my favorite artists.”

Swift’s smiling face beamed in to Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay, and she held up the blue Fender she’d pocketed. “I am so sorry that I can’t be with you tonight,” said the starlet. “But I’m so thankful you decided to give me this ACA! Appropriately, I am on the other side of the world right now.”

Continued Swift, “I am so happy you decided to honor touring worldwide; it’s been such an amazing part of my life.”

Just as the songstress has had amazing experiences worldwide, her global masses of fans have had unforgettable experiences seeing the fan-favorite singer in concert. Congratulations to Swift on this inaugural award! It was hard-earned.
