Some residents of Providence's College Hill Historic District are annoyed by the temporary carport that was installed in Danny Amendola's driveway.

The Patriots wide receiver said the carport was installed so he could get to practice on time during the winter months.

The Associated Press reports several neighbors have complained about the structure and are calling it an eyesore.

"It's a simple utilitarian structure, but if you had tons of these around the neighborhood, it would significantly detract from the historic quality and aesthetic appearance of the Benefit Street neighborhood," said neighbor Tim More.

Amendola says the city gave him permission to put up the carport and he plans on taking it down in February.

A number of Patriots players live in Providence, which is closer to Foxborough than Boston is.
