A Naples man is dead after slipping beneath the surface of a lake in Bridgton.

WABI-TV reports 42-year-old Stephen Bricault was swimming in Long Lake in Bridgton at around 7 o'clock last night when he went underwater and never resurfaced. He was swimming in an area off Plummers Landing and was headed back to shore from a sandbar when he disappeared.

It only took rescue crews about 20 minutes to find his body in approximately 20 feet of water. The State Medical Examiner's Office will now work to determine the cause of death.
