More Than A Dozen Cows Killed In Levant Barn Fire

Crews from multiple towns battled a barn fire in Levant this morning that killed the cows inside.

WABI-TV reports 15 cows died in the fire that was called in around 6 o'clock Thursday morning. The owner tried to get the animals out of the barn, but wasn't successful. Fire officials say the building was full of hay.

When crews arrived, the barn had already collapsed. No one other than the cows was hurt in the fire.

The State Fire Marshal's Office will now work to determine what sparked the blaze.
