Atleast three people were seriously injured in an accident on I-95 in New Hampshire this morning involving a bus from a Maine daycare.

The accident happened in the town of Greenland, New Hampshire and involved a bus from a daycare facility that's part of the Kittery Community Center. The Portsmouth Herald says one of the seriously injured was a child. They were taken to Portsmouth Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. Several other kids on the bus were taken to Exeter Hospital for evaluation but the extent of their injuries isn't known, at this time.

Officials say the bus was the only vehicle involved and that the driver was trapped after the accident. Police say the driver may have suffered a medical event prior to the crash, but the exact cause isn't known at this time. Three lanes of traffic on the southbound side of I-95 were closed, backing traffic up for miles. New Hampshire State Police are asking drivers to avoid the area while they reconstruct the accident scene.

We'll update this story as more details become available.
