With the race coming up in April you don't have much time left to prepare for Bangor's favorite stream race!

Completing this race is one of the things you have to do on our Bangor Bucket List! The Bangor Dept. of Parks & Recreation hosts the annual event from the town of Kenduskeag to downtown Bangor. 16.5 miles of paddling, portaging, and just trying to stay in your boat!

But it's a lot of fun and something that should be tried once if possible. This is one of the largest paddling events around and is open for everyone from amateurs to professionals, and even annual, iconic paddlers like Zip Kellogg!

Rescue crews recommend wearing the correct clothing to keep you dry and warm in the usually chilly spring water and air. Also, try not to bring things like car keys, cell phones, cameras, or other things you don't want floating away into the Penobscot or sinking.

To register to participate in the race you can find the online form here. You can also get a printable version here. Day of the race entry prices do double.
