One of the most deadly situations on the roadways are high-speed car chases. A 2010 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report states that on the average 360 people are killed each year in high-speed pursuits. Many times innocent people are part of the statistic when criminals lose control of their automobile and crash into others. Police officers are often at a loss as to what to do, knowing that if they pursue deaths may occur. But one company has developed a device that just may be a game changer for high-speed pursuit situations.

A Virgina based company called StarChase has developed technology that can launch a GPS tracker that sticks to a vehicle. The idea is to be able to back off from the fleeing vehicle in hopes they'll slow down, all the while keeping track of its location.
