More than 20 people were arrested in connection with a large underage drinking party in Penobscot.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office says the Alcohol Enforcement Team learned Thursday that the party was being attended by about 50 people at a home located at 536 Dunbar Road in Penobscot. During the course of the investigation, a vehicle leaving the large gathering was stopped on the Back Shore Road in Castine.

It was determined that the driver, 20-year-old Andrew Waltz of Topsham had been drinking and so he was taken to the Bucksport Police Department for a breathalyzer test. He was subsequently charged with Possession of Liquor by a Minor and the breath test results were forwarded to the Secretary of State for administrative OUI action.

Deputies with the Hancock County Sheriff's Office and Maine State Troopers then approached the residence and busted up the party.
