Calling everyone who likes airplanes! The Experimental Aircraft Association, Chapter 736 will hold their Annual Fly-in named “The Great Central Maine Everything That Flies Fly In” at the Pittsfield Municipal Airport in conjunction with the 42nd Anniversary of the Egg Festival on Saturday, July 19, 2014. The Pittsfield Municipal Airport is owned by the Town of Pittsfield and operated by Curtis Air.

The fly-in will run from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm. There will be events all day starting with the arrival of amazing experimental planes that everyone will want to examine to see how they fly! A pancake breakfast is open to the public from 7:00 am to 10:30 am. Lunch will be served from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.

The flight line of aircraft will be on display most of the day - drop by to see all of these exciting inventions. In additional to the experimental planes, there will be powered parachutes, utltralites and trikes as well as remote controlled aircraft.

Young Eagles Flights will be available for youngsters 8 to 17 years of age free of charge from 9 am to 1 pm so that they can learn about airplanes and airports. A parent or legal guardian must register the Young Eagle for the ride.

Would you like to charter an airplane ride? Airplane rides will be available from 9 am to 4 pm. Powered glider rides will be available during the Fly-in. This will be a very large fly-in with a lot of planes on display.

At the same time, there are many events scheduled with craft exhibits, food vendors, a full midway with rides and displays plus much more located at the Egg Festival in Manson Park. For those individuals coming into Town, there is a Big Parade that starts at the Industrial Park and travels down Somerset Avenue to Main Street to Manson Park scheduled for 9:15 am that morning.

Signs will be up directing airport enthusiastics through Town to the Fly-in. The Pittsfield Municipal Airport is located off Peltoma Avenue at 176 Harrison Street. A parking area will be designated for people attending the fly-in. Do not miss this opportunity to see all of these amazing planes right here in Central Maine.
