DESCRIPTION:Living with disabilities doesn't mean there aren't options for employment. An event in Bangor later this month will focus on helping people with disabilities learn how to find those jobs and meet some folks who have done it successfully.        [caption id="attachment_19713" align="alignleft" width="262"] Getty Images[/caption]    The 5th Annual Disabilities Mentoring Day is being held at the Bangor Community Center on the Davis Road on October 22nd. From 9am to 2:30pm\, people with disabilities are invited to "Explore the Possibilities."    The day will be devoted to career awareness and more. Activities will include meeting local employers and finding out what employers are looking for\, using social media in a job search\, and improving interview skills.    Lunch will be provided by Olive Garden and culinary arts trainees from Penobscot Job Corps Academy will provide hospitality for the luncheon. The event is being sponsored by the Eastern Maine Development Corporation and the Career Center.    Pre-registration is required for this event. Although folks can get information about how to apply for all positions in the facility\, this job fair is specifically for anyone interested in being a table games dealer at the Casino.    I spoke with Scott Welch of Hollywood Casino Hotel and Raceway yesterday. He said that there's been an important change in the process this year. In the past\, table games dealers had to go to Eastern Maine Community College for training\, at their own cost. But now\, that training is being done at the Casino\, free of charge!    Folks attending the job fair will learn how to apply for jobs at Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway and will attend a training session to learn more about what's required. A quick math test will also be part of the process.    The job fair will be held on Wednesday\, January 9th from 3 to 7pm in the Lancaster Room at the Casino on Main Street in Bangor.
