Elm Street Congregational Church at 31 Elm Street in Bucksport will have a concert of Baroque Music performed by the Somerset Consort group on Friday, September 12 at 7 p.m. Freewill donations will be taken to benefit the church, which is on the National Historic Register. The group includes Diana Brookes-Brown, flute, Lorna Russell, viola da gamba, Carlton Russell, harpsichord, and guests Catharine Cloutier, mezzo-soprano, and Hannah McGuire, flute. Diana Brookes-Brown has concertized throughout New England and teaches flute and voice at Waterfall Arts in Belfast. Lorna Russell is an organist and shares with her husband, Carlton the music ministry at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Blue Hill. Carlton Russell is Professor of Music and College Organist, Emeritus at Wheaton College, Norton, Massachusetts. Catharine Cloutier is a music education major with a vocal concentration at UMO where she studies with Francis Vogt and directs Renaissance, the University's premier women's al cappella ensemble. Hannah McGuire earned a bachelor of music degree in flute performance in 2010 from UMO, where she was a student of Liz Downing. Both Hannah and Catharine are former students of Diana Brookes-Brown.
