The Challenger Learning Center at 30 Venture Way in Bangor is collecting returnables this summer.

They kicked it off last week, the day after the 4th of July. And if you are that quick to gather up the bottles from the 4th, and bag them, and drop them off in the truck bed that is outside the center, then hats off to you.

The rest of us are just getting to the task of cleaning out the shed or the cellar and bagging up the returnables.

It is a different way of fund raising for them this summer. You bag up the bottles and cans and drop them off.

And since the Challenger Learning Center will be doing this until the end of next month, maybe you can make more than one donation.

You can do it anytime, up until August 31st.

Your donations are to help raise funds for Challenger to fulfill its mission to inspire Maine students in STEM learning. They are a small non profit organization that continues to provide positive STEM programs.

Every dollar counts.  In this case, every bottle and can counts.

Fill up a bag, tie it up and drop it off. Then, repeat the process.
