Blake Shelton says Luke Bryan would be a good candidate to replace him on NBC’s The Voice, if the “Crash My Party” singer is willing to make some sacrifices.

Shelton has been on the show since the beginning, never missing a season. It’s not clear that he plans to take time off soon, but if he does, he says Bryan would “be a good person in that chair.”

Committing to two yearly seasons of the show requires extreme commitment, however. "There also has to be an element of actually being willing to just give up, pretty much, your career to do it,” Shelton tells the Associated Press. "I'm just lazy enough. I may be the only one that was willing to do that." Adam Levine has also been a coach each year.

Bryan may not be. He’s very active as a touring artist and hitting new career heights every year, including consecutive Entertainer of the Year Awards (CMA and ACM). He also has kids, including his sister’s son Til, who began living with him after the death of her husband last fall.

There’s also Shelton’s success on the show. He’s won four of seven seasons, and has one of the remaining five finalists left this season. Meghan Linsey has been a favorite to win since her audition, and recent performances haven’t let fans down. If she wins she’ll join Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradbery, Craig Wayne Boyd and Jermaine Paul as Team Blake winners.
