Bar Harbor Names New Town Manager

Bar Harbor has appointed a new town manager. The former town manager of Topsham has accepted the job.

According to Fenceviewer, Cornell Knight has plenty of experience, serving as Town Manager of Topsham from 2011 to 2013, manager of Winthrop for 12 years, and manager of Jay for seven. He was named Manager of the Year by the Maine Town, City, and County Management Association in 2012.

Knight resigned from his position in Topsham in 2013 in order to move to Washington, D.C. and be closer to his wife. Kay Rand is chief of staff for Senator Angus King. The couple just returned to Maine over the summer.

He’s set to begin work on October 1st and will earn $104,000 annually. He replaces former Town Manager Dana Reed, who resigned in May.
